T H E J I V E
Working with the Fallen Angels Dance Theatre in 2014, ignited a passion for the expressive language of movement and form. Working with the group, I was able to witness first-hand, the transformative power of dance to move people into recovery from addiction.
Inspired by this work, I produced a series of painted portraits before creating my first sculpture in bronze. Using my hands to shape texture and convey the joyful surrender of movement allowed me to connect viscerally to the artwork – giving rise to The Jive series.
The Jive was moulded and cast in bronze at Castle Fine Arts Foundry in Wales, using the ancient art of lost wax casting. The series is a bronze edition of six. If you would like further information about the editions still remaining (#4-#6), then please get in touch via my contact form.
